Book Review : West End Girls by Barbara Tate

This book is a riot! If you love London history and have a fascination with the oldest trade in the world, prostitution, and the ladies who are involved in it, then you will enjoy this immensely. Best of all it's actually a true story!

It is set in Soho and tells the story of Barbara who becomes the maid of Mae, a busy, popular, at-times-glamourous, funny and eccentric working girl. There are tales of gangsters, pimps, punters and prosties and how they all interact in and around the bustling streets of the West End of London in the 1940's.
